I want a title and a short description of each image in my gallery. How can I do this?
The title of an image will display in the gallery, the description will display in the Lightbox.
To add a title to your image:
- Go to the gallery page or section where the image is added.
- Hover your mouse over the section, and click Edit Image.
- Click Change Content.
- Click on the image you wish to edit.
- Under Title, enter the image title.
- Click Done.
To add a description to your image:
- Go to the gallery page or section where the image is added.
- Hover your mouse over the section, and click Edit Image.
- Click Change Content.
- Click on the image you wish to edit.
- Under Description, fill in the image description.
- Click Done.
What image formats are supported?
- Supported File Types png, jpg, jpeg, gif, svg
- Colour Space: sRGB
Is there an image size limit?
Max Image Size: 24MB.
How can I upload an image?
Your library is where you can store images and videos that you can use on your website. You can upload multiple images at a time from your computer.
- Click on Libraries & Tools.
- Click on Images under Media Libraries.
- Click on Select Images from your computer at the side of the pop-up window.
- Next, pick images you want to upload from your computer.
How can I organise my images?
Tags are a good way to keep your images organised in the library. A tag is a word or phrase that describes what your image is about. You can also think of it as a label. Keeping the tag short (1 to 3 words) is best. One image can have several tags.
To add a tag to one or several images:
- Click on Libraries & Tools.
- Click on Images under Media Libraries.
- Select one or several images
- Add a tag in the tag field
- Save
Can I use video on my website?
Portfoliobox does not support direct video upload from your computer to your website. We allow video embedding from either Vimeo or Youtube.
To add videos to your Portfoliobox website, you must upload them to either YouTube or Vimeo first, and then you can add them to your website.
Can I add a video background for my page?
You can add video as a background to Cover sections / Cover pages only. Your background video needs to be embedded from Vimeo, which allows you to hide controls, mute and autoplay — perfect for video background. Read more about Video Background.
How can I protect my image from being downloaded?
By default, the right-click option is enabled in your admin panel. Disabling right-click provides security and prevents visitors from downloading a copy of your images.
To disable the right-click option:
- Go to Settings
- Click Website Settings
- Scroll down to Disable Right Click
- Switch the toggle button to disable the right-click option
Can I add a watermark to my images?
We suggest adding a watermark to your images before uploading them on Portfoliobox. There are many software available to add Watermarks to photos.
How can my images be found on Google?
Adding alt-text to images is important for search engine indexing and interpretation. It provides a brief description of what the image portrays, helping search engines to accurately identify the image on your site. Read more about Alt-text.
