Margins, padding & position

You can easily fine-tune your website by editing the margins, padding or position of elements on your page.

Edit the padding of a section

Padding is used to generate space around an element's content, inside of any defined borders. In Portfoliobox, you will be able to edit the padding of sections and certain elements.

You can edit the default padding of a section to adjust it to your liking.

  1. Click on Edit Section in the upper right corner of the section.
  2. Select Styles.
  3. Edit the Padding Top, Bottom, Left and Right.

Edit the margins of an element

Margins are used to create space around elements outside of any defined borders. In Portfoliobox, you can edit the margins of elements on your site e.g. a header, a logo, a border, a form, a button, etc. To edit the margins of an element:

  1. Right-click on the element you want to edit.
  2. Select Styles.
  3. Edit the Margin Top, Bottom, Left and Right.

NB! For some elements, you can edit all margins of the element: top, bottom, right & left. For others, only top and bottom — it depends on the type of elements you edit.

Edit the position of an element

Position is used to align an element on your page horizontally. In Portfoliobox, you will be able to edit the position of certain elements:

  1. Cmd-click on the element you want to edit to open the Style Editor.
  2. Select a Position: Left, Center, Right.

In the image below, the text block is aligned to the left while the text within the block is centered, as per the settings.
